I carry Asurion insurance in my cell phone through T-mobile and my daughter lost her phone. I had a different phone replaced on the same account a few months ago and it was a breeze. This time their identification database properly identified me and then they transferred me to a different department and all of a sudden I had to fax them an affadavit. I appreciated reading several of the posts here while going though my "ordeal" with HP. If you want some detail on my case, I’ve provided it at the end. It is clear that HP needs to improve the processing of situations where they have failed to perform to contract. I purchased shutters for a window that had to be special ordered. Upon ordering, I was told it would take 30-38 days for delivery to my home. After the 38 days had expired, I went to Lowe's and spoke with the asst. mgr. who assured me the scheduled delivery would be in one week. Again, I did not receive the shutters. The design of the $299 Bose Quiet Comfort II Noise-Canceling Headphones is flawed. The plastic used in the headband cracks under the stress of normal use. We have gone through three sets in two years. Bose replaced the headphones twice at minimal cost to me, but now that the third set has snapped, I'm not even going to bother asking them to replace them again. Bck in March I was informed that my personal information and Credit Card balance owed to to Providian National Bank had been sold to a credit company that bills themselves simply as SST. I did not give authorization for my personal information (home address, phone number, email address, SS#, Etc.) to be sold to ANYONE. I applied for credit from Unicorn for LASIK. My terms were 18 months no interest. Well, either they did not disclose or I did not read that if one payment was missed they will add on all the interest for the finance term. I had the entire balance paid up in 6 months instead of the 18 months; however I missed one payment. I did not receive the statement that month. 93 yo admitted to KP Harbor City via ER. Between the ER and admission, upper plate was lost. Risk Mgt took report. Replacement teeth cost $1295. 93 yo was readmitted with new upper/lower plates. Within 2 days of admission, set was lost, again! Staff cannot explain where teeth are. 93 yo's quality of life greatly reduced by KP's repeated negligence! Both included commercials since the episodes that were included were taped from tv reruns. I've been communicating via email with this company for 9 months. They promised replacements. Ordered on 10/01/07. Never received merchandise. All attempts to rectify the matter was met with a run around. I was given a shipping tracking number fro canadapost.ca to track ship and it was invalid. I went several times to their "chatroom" and talked with a Karen, Jen and Maria. I purchased a cell phone and accepted the "Device Protection" for $49.99. Come to find out when I tried to make a claim, that this is not insurance from the carrier and in fact a majority of the ways your phone could get lost or damaged are not covered. The real issue is that none of this is explained up front when you make the purchase, it is only referred to under "What Circumstances Are Not Covered" after the fact. Do your research.
