I received a letter from the Offices of Mitchell N. Kay regarding a cell phone bill of $983.15 for a phone the I had contracted for in 2004 and cancelled three days later. I even have a cancellation confirmation number given to me by T. Mobile. This was totally out of the blue but has now hit my credit report. I have a laptop that I purchased from Circuit City and after the 1 yr warranty ran out I was contacted by City Assure who offered to insure my computer for 3 years for $120. 9 months later my laptop fan started making loud noises and getting overheated to the point of making the plastic on the side get brittle and break off. I purchased a maintenance agreement for my dryer and washing machine and both have had maintenance issues. The washing machine has been down going on four weeks, but as soon as they have replaced ALL the working parts it should work. The major problem is parts, the service center does not carry parts and has to order each part weekly rather than have all the parts on hand. This causes waste and abuse when a technician has to make 4 trips to replace two parts. They only come on Thursdays, if the part arrives. The Philips after sales service is pathetic at best. I have a LCD TV which faced a problem of its PCB burn out. I have purchased a slider case for my iPhone at the Apple Store in January for $99.95. It works great until my visit to Miami the weekend of 7/18. Should have checked the addy out, that way we would have seen that the address goes to a UPS store. I cannot even believe how low the quality control is at Gateway. Tablet PCs are shipped without a Windows repair disk, and files get corrupted seemingly weekly. The tablet pens stop working after about 4 months because they didn't check if the manufacturer used appropriate materials - the steel spring and aluminum battery get so corroded that the pen stops working. My battery won't hold a charge at all anymore, I have to plug it in to use my computer. I had bought an HP c4680 from best buy about one month ago. I got the store warranty, but I've heard that I may as well have just kept the manufacturer's warranty.
