This is a complaint against Gardner White furniture at 4400 East 14 Mile in Warren, MI. I ordered new living room furniture, love seat and recliner, on January 6, 2007. My husband and I purchased a castle bed from rooms-to-go in Augusta Ga in Nov. We were told that we could pick a date for it to be delieverd and they would bring it and set it up for $69.99. You buy a bed, you have no payments no interest for 1 year, but if you don't read the fine print and don't pay it off in full by your promotional due date - by the way they send you a bill after your due date has passed, you have to pay all of the interest you have incurred for an entire year! Do not use Sears Home Central for any home repair work. I contracted with them for an air conditioner in June. The unit was installed after the promised time on the contract which is not actually the complaint. They promised to obtain the necessary permits which was never done. Tom Adams Builders was hired to do some backfill work around our home. We advanced him the payment ($500), so that he could afford to hire a crane to lift his bobcat out of a ditch that an employee had driven into. He agreed to return with his bobcat and do the backfill work. He never return, avoided our calls, made up excuses when we did get in touch with him and when finally confronted, told us that he would not be doing the work. He is keeping the money. Consumers Energy decides to estimate meters whenever they don't feel like coming out to your house and giving you an actual reading. My bill went from $81.67 to $274.00 because they estimated instead of doing an actual reading. RUUD heat pump freezes up outside coils. No help from installer or RUUD rep. Unit is great ice maker but sucks for heat. Ruud has made it impossible to contact them personally. I paid $35.00 for Home Depot to come out and measure my porch door to install a fiberglass door. After taking my money and measuring the opening I am told that they do not have a fiberglass door that fits but they can put up a $1700.00 wood door. I called up the oil company about the equipment not functioning properly because heating wasn’t working properly. The dispatcher said they are only addressing problems of ‘no heating’ and somebody would be there on Saturday. I had called on Tuesday. Ironically Indane Gas has a toll free number, but their Udaipur distributor "Aravali Gas Service" has different opinion about phone service. During working hours you never reach them on phone. I purchased a Rudd Gas Hot Water heater on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 that had a 6 year warranty. It was installed by a plumber but now is leaking, we went back to the company that it was bought from which is Coburn Supply Co. In New Ibeira La. , they agreed to give us another one but refused to pay the price for the plumber to reinstall. I think that this is unfair to the customer and the plumber. Doors not installed correctly. Both doors slam when closed. Holes in screen of both doors. We called Oasis Aluminum, Inc. located in Orlando, Fl numerous times during warranty with their failure to comply. I bought my maytag ice2o French door refrigerator from home depot 8 mos ago. Loved it when I got it, but soon after had problems with the ice maker. They replaced the ice maker. They repaired my chimney, their repairs did not work as advertised to me and now my fireplace is not usable as it was before they did the work and I have been told that it may not be safe to use. In our location we always face problem of delay in delivery of cylinders, not only me but all people staying here are fade up with delay in cylinder delivery. After getting one cylinder dealer doesn't take our bookings for next 10 days. After next 10 days when we book our gas it normally takes 15 days or more to receive a gas. I don't think in metropolitan city like Mumbai where there is very good infrastructure and transport facilities such problem should arise. I am very much vexed up with HP Gas and really feel uncomfortable with gas. There is always shortage for gas cylinders. And the booking system is so worst and badly handled. The line is busy always and we can't book a gas for 2 days till we get the line. And after you book, the delivery will take at least 15-20 days. I have booked gas for 10 days and no response as yet. I have 2 cylinders and both are empty with stupid rules of HP gas services. This service providers are a big failure.
