This company recruites laborers to work in Home Depots across America. Jet Retail does not pay their employees in a timely matter, if they get paid at all. They are using the "independant contractor" scheme claiming the people they hire are independant contractors, this way they do not have to pay people for the hourss they work without being reprimanded by the state labor board. I have filed a complaint with my state labor board (California) and have found that I was indeed considered an employee. When we entered the building the staff seemed generally upset that we were walking in to bother them to have to make us a sandwich. I have a roto tiller that needs repaired. I have taken it to 2 centers and been told they cannot repair items anymore, we would have to take it 65 miles away to get it done. I bought a stainless steel sink over three months ago. When i got the sink it was not the correct one and was also badly damaged. there was a huge scratch and the entire top of the sink was badly bent and completely out of shape. Our 1-1/2 year old Kenmore washer needs a new transmission. No, we didn't purchase the extended warranty thinking Kenmore was a good brand and would last a number of years. We are retired and have no children at home so it isn't as though a family of 5 is using it. Maybe 2-3 loads a week maximum. I have repeatedly received calls (daily) on my cell phone tellling me to call a number. No business name is given...just a generic name Richard Silver...which when you google it turns out to very common. Thus no information can be garnered about who is calling about what before you call back. While the easiest thing would be to ignore it, after daily harassment with these calls it is impossible. Finally, after following the instructions and dialing "1" when they called, the person who answered was seeking someone (not me) who I had never heard of. This is abad place to work, management treats garbage better than the employees. The culture is the exact opposite of what the mission and vision states. I was after a power steering pump for my 94 Jeep Wrangler. Called up Jeep Republic, the owner said they had one and to come pick it up. I drove 40 miles round trip. Was greeted by the owner who showed me the pump but it did not look like the right one. He then led me to the back of the parts shop where he had multiple pumps. I contacted this place in order to have a custom part made. I received an estimate and paid for the material up front. The order in question was $20 or so for the sheet stock, and an additional $80 for the actual metalwork. As soon as I received the quote for the work needing to be done, I payed the individual in question thru paypal, At this point, he stops answering my emails/ calls etc. Several weeks have passed and I have heard nothing.
